I removed my washer and dryer from my kitchen. I want to hook up the refrigerator water line to cold water faucet the washer used. I purchased a 3/4" Male connector and a 3/4" x 1'4" reducer (item # 30806) from Lowes. My problem is that this part leaks. Is there another part I can buy to make this work?

The above is a good answer. Go back to Lowes, take the parts
if no trouble and be more specific than your question .

If you can get at the copper tube coming to the cold faucet you can use a saddle valve. The saddle valve clamps around the tubing then you screw in the t-pin which punctures the tube. The saddle valve has one side of a compression fitting just waiting to accept your plastic tubing with a matching compression fitting. You can still use the faucet for something else or just leave it turned off. Check with a hardware department to get the right sizes. By the way the saddle valve could go on any exposed copper tubing in the kitchen. I once ran a really long plastic tube thru my cabinets to get to the sink cold water.

Both the 3/4" and 1/4" reducer should have a gasket seal in them. Much like a garden hose gasket for the 3/4" and a clear or white plastic gasket for the 1/4" also used with telfon and it should not leak.

Yes there is a water connection kit designed for ice makers. It mounts to the pipe and has a pin thing that you turn and the 1/4" hose. Turn the pin and it pierces the pipe. Back it off and it allows the water to flow through the hose. It;s about $10 at Lowes/Home Depot.

The 3/4" needs rubber gasket like your garden hose. The 1/4" uses a compression ring & nut, if you over toghten it will need replaced.

have you put teflon tape around the threads if you have maybe you have a defective part if not try that first. This has been the problem for many of my plumbing problems.

I do not have an answer personally but if you do not get answers on here then contact Lowes. Most of these places know what you will need.

What type of fittings are they? If they are pipe-thread fittings (may be marked MIP or FIP), you need to use several wraps of teflon tape.
