To give us the illusion that we live in a free society with free elections. The Ruling Illuminati have the system perfectly rigged to filter wealth from the working class upward to the super rich.

We have a two-party system because our forefathers saw the need for debate. It's a safeguard to ensure that issues are fully explored before implementing legislation. In addition to that, the bicameral system is also used in this way, to ensure that the debate occurs among two different groups of people and they have come to the same conclusion. It also slows down the legislative process so that laws are not hastily passed before adequate thought and consideration can be given to them. "They are always fighting with each other and still getting nothing done" is actually a big part of the intended design.

We have republicans and democrats because there are always different opinions and solutions. That is what makes our government a democracy. Republicans and Democrats have always existed in one shape or another. Republicans are into a government-centered rule and tend to favor big-business. Democrats are more about the people ruling and they tend to favor the working class. These two parties will never disappear.

Because the two parties have seized power, and manipulated the electoral system to ensure that they remain in power.
Between gerrymandering of congressional districts, or forcing the electoral college into an all-or-nothing game, they have ensure that no third-party can easily encroach on the territory they have claimed.
Time for a change. Dump the incumbents.
Think independently. Vote Libertarian.

but they are to let the people of america decide where they stand on preference. It is a product of our freedom. It makes it so we can vote and decide who will run our country based on which side the majority of the united states believes in.
