First of all, just a correction, ibuprofen is fine to take early on during pregnancy and not the other way around (ie. can be taken after 24 wks). It is actually contraindicated in the 3rd trimester. Tylenol is ok during pregnancy. The only thing is taking tylenol regularly for headaches actually causes rebound headaches that's going to be worse than the original headaches. You should really talk to your doctor and find out why you are having chronic headaches. Headaches are just symptoms, there's usually an underlying cause.

I would definitely not take aspirin. For one it thins your blood, and for another it is dangerous to the baby because of Reye Syndrome. Tylenol is usually perfectly fine, and maybe motrin, but I am not 100% on the Motrin. I know that I usually took Tylenol and placed a cold pack on my head with prenatal head aches. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Have you tried seeing a chiropractor or a massage therapist. So many headaches can be cured with a combination of the two! I know because I get migraines really bad, but if i maintain my adjustments then I don't get them anymore. I have seen it work for so many of my patients as well!! And it's completely safe for your unborn baby.

Tylenol is it. It is not toxic to the baby if taken in moderation. Sorry! Course you need to do what the Dr says. He may not even want you taking that if you have any type of complications. Other that Tylenol, you need to consult your physician. Aspirin and Anti-inflammatories are a no-no...Have you tried other methods? Relaxation and stretching...Trigger Points, etc?

Sounds like you might have cluster headaches. I would call your OB office in the am, ask to speak to a nurse and see what they recommend. Even if you havent been to an OB, you can still call an office and ask. I wouldnt think Aspirin would be good to take.

Tylenol is safer than aspirin or motrin, but it doesn't work very well (in my opinion). You need to check with your OB and see what she/he suggests. Also, you need to let them know you are having frequent headaches.

unfortunately acetaminophen is the only headache medicine you can take until you are 24 weeks and then you can take ibuprofen
