I have been struggling with eating issues for 4 years or so. I've never managed to lose tremendous amounts of weight, but recently I've been following a cereal/chai plan and have been losing weight successfully. The problem is that in 3 weeks time I am going in for a checkup for my blood, since I am Anemic and I think my blood will be worse since I don't eat a normal meal really, at all. Only one-two days per week.

I know this is not a good diet plan I'm following, but I can't help it.

I am scared to tell anyone because then I'll have to eat. I'll never get to my goal.

I just don't want to get any sicker.

Any advice? Will my blood get worse if I don't eat?

I discovered only yesterday that I am also anemic. You could try taking iron supplements instead of eating, but I don't know how healthy that is. I doubt that your blood will get worse, but you could develop other health issues, like I did. I started to get swollen, painful joints all over my body, and this was not a pleasant experience. I hope this was some help to you.

IRON Take an iron pill a day, and if you're worried about eating, starving yourself will slow your metabolism and then your body will in turn build fat more rapidly, as a natural defense. Protien and iron will help your blood levels and make you feel better too. Don't forget your fiber and fresh grains too. ALL the foods containing necessary nourishment are healthy and low to 0 fat. Lettuce, (it'll help you poop cuz iron will constipate you) plums, beef jerky, bananas, apples. Your brain needs fat to function. Ever feel spaced out or dizzy?? Don't ya know that's why babies live on milk. Incredibly high levels of healthy fat in dairy. No, milk won't help you lose weight. Read labels and NEVER take diet pills. That can permanently screw up your thyroid glands causing serious problems for the rest of your life.

not only can your anemia get worse but there are other vitamin deficiencies your doctor might not be checking for if they're not fully aware of what your eating habits are. (vitamin K, B12, etc). it sounds like you recognize that you have an eating disorder, and need help. think hard about talking to your doctor about options for getting help when you go. it's not a weakness to do so, and you know what you're doing isn't the healthy thing for you. good luck!

Yes it will. But I'm severely anemic, and I was told by my doctor that as long as I have orange juice or tang.... a large glass of it, each day, it keeps my levels up. You should try it, it works fantastic!!!

I would suggest that you take a multi vitamin and a slow release iron pill.
