Two ways come to mind.

1) take the book to an antique store for appraisal, or

2) eBay. There is a place to ask for an appraisal of an object you have.

Good luck!

You need to contact the publisher. They will need to know what condition the book is in, if it is paperback or hardback, if the date is stamped on the inside cover, cloth or paper, original cover, etc. They should have that information on the value of the book. If you don't know the publisher then contact a good publishing house. Your local library can help with that if you don't know how. I got a complete list of the value of all my Harry Potter books from the Bloomsbury publisher in England just by asking them.
