I have to move to Scotland temporarily for a research thing, and yes, I'm curious to find out what it's like to be an expat. I'm excited and a little scared because everyone seems to hate us these days. As for adjusting, I expect I'll be doing the adjusting, not them. After all, I'll be a guest in their country.

Every day people leave and never look back, people renounce the American citizenship,American born. It seems like you have never adventured out of your neighborhood, there are so many places you can go on with your life, you always adapt, and of course you learn the language in Mexico and Costa Rica there are small cities for Americans, is like going to the next city, everything is like an American cities, movies supermarkets language, everything.. like you never left home

We've already applied for our Canadian work visas. My best friend also lives in Germany and we are teaching our son the language. We are slowly trying to learn but we are here until my husband finishes his Master's degree. Talk about frustrating.
