I will talk about anything so long as it is intelligent. If the person I am talking to is less expert than be on the given subject I can explain it to him. If I am less expert I can take the opportunity to learn.

Obviously only awesome things like pumping iron, YTMNDs, and repercussions of snakes running rampant inside planes.
Talking about philosophy unless you're talking to a fellow phil student only serves to inflate the ego of the sophomore (emo kid, most likely) to whom you're giving attention. Likewise, talking about politics only inflates the ego of the idiot activist (who else would talk about politics?).
