Oh I LOVE the sims! I have, Livin' Large, house party, deluxe edition, hot date, vacation, unleashed and I love them.
The ones that I haven't tried is Sims online, Super star, sims 2....and I think there are a few more. I can't think of them. I like all of them though. Anyone you buy will be great and full of endless entertainment! I usualy find the best prices at Walmart!

I really like the Open For Business the best so far, but can't wait for the pets. LOL You do need the basic Sims 2 game first, as the person before me stated. Have fun. This game is very addictive. =)

You need to have the base game first... The Sims 2. Once you get that, then get NightLife, since it gives a nice downtown to go to and lots of fun things to do like dancing and eating out.
I love NightLife but I couldn't play some of the wierd stuff I do in my game without University too. University comes with musical instruments so you can make a band, also a cell phone and lots of useful things. If Sims 2 turns out to be your kind of game, you end up wanting them all.
If you like animals a LOT and can only get one expansion pack due to budget, just get Sims 2 now and get Pets when it comes out. Pets is going to be another best seller. :)

definitely nightlife-cars, vampires, great clothes and a whole new town. the university pack is good at first but it takes forever to graduate and it just gets really frustrating. if youre going to buy one i'd say wait for the pets expansion pack to come out cus it looks really good. happy playing
