From what I've heard, amniotic fluid smells sweet. Usually they say you could be leaking urine which smells more, I dunno, urine-y. I know its obvious but truth is, a doctor can test really quickly with litmus paper.

It can be hard to tell whether you broke your water, especially when you already are noticing some leaking of urine, a common situation in pregnancy. However, your practitioner can do a test in the office or the hospital to see if your water really did break, and if it is still questionable, an ultrasound can check if there is a normal amount of amniotic fluid around the baby.
It's important to figure this out quickly in order to reduce the risk of infection to the uterus and baby, and if your water breaks early in the second trimester, it can sometimes lead to newborn lung problems.
Generally we recommend calling your practitioner right away if you think you may have broken your water. There is some evidence that immediate antibiotic treatment can help prevent serious infection in the baby and may stave off preterm labor as well, if you are earlier than about 35 weeks gestation. So the best rule of thumb is: if in doubt, call.

It shouldn't be amniotic fluid this early. Go to the dr. and they can test it with a ph strip.
Vaginal discharge in early pregnancy is normal as long as it does not smell bad or have green or yellow color.
A non-smelly clear or white discharge is usually a physiological discharge. That means that it is not caused by any particular disease or infection, but is an exaggeration of the normal slight discharge that all women have naturally. The vagina has many secretory glands that maintain its healthy moist state. Sometimes, usually under hormonal influence, this natural barely noticeable discharge becomes heavier and noticeable. This could certainly happen in early pregnancy when there are major changes to your hormones. If it were due to some infection, it would probably be offensive in smell, often greenish or discoloured, not clear or white, and you might get soreness or irritation with it.

if it was amniotic fluid. It would not stop. I and this happen before I had a miscarriage. I lost all my fluid and the heart beat was still going. It was horrible. But if you were loosing it, it would be a constant flow. Like if you went pee it would not stop. But discharge is normal. If you are worried then go to the ER. They have a little test stick they swab you with and it turns color to tell them if its Amniotic fluid. Good Luck

Why would you be leaking? I fell on a Friday evening at 8 months and my water leaked for the weekend and I went into labor Monday morining. But I have never heard of water leaking at a 13 week pregnancy? Discharge is normal due to hormone fluctuations.
