As an American I can become and do anything I want to do. As a women I can be educated, voice my feelings, run for public office, and fight for my country, I do not have to worry about being beaten for my opinions or taking jobs that were once only exclusive for men. In America you can agree to disagree and not worry about being thrown in a torture chambers for not going along with an elected official. In America you can go to any church you wish to go to or not to go to. In America you have so many cultures that make America unique. In America everyone can get an education. In America you can vote for whom you want in office. America may not be perfect and we may have some issues we need to work on, but Americans have big hearts and they are always there for any country when disasters or emergencies happen, giving money, food, medical and shelter. America is still learning and growing. Sure I get upset with things like Katrina and how my fellow Americans were suffering and how many still are suffering from the aftermath. I have questions about Iraq, but I will always support my troops and appreciate all the sacrifices they make and continue to make. I'm proud I live in a country where there are so many people from all over the world living here and helping to make it a better place.

It's easier to get American women into bed, than, say, Saudi women -that's gotta be a bonus.
On a serious note, whether or not you like what's going on today, America was founded on excellent principles such as religious freedom, liberty and the right to the pursuit of happiness. The founding fathers really had their sh** together, and that's what made the country so great and powerful, for all it's faults.

George W. Bush, ignorance, obesity, blind-patriotism, inequality, corruption, gun-crime, xenophobia, racism.
There's a few for your list.
To all the people below saying things about 'freedom': I realise this might come as a shock to you, but people have just as much freedom in all the other western countries. Sometimes I think people in the USA have been brainwashed to think the rest of the world is like some kind of Orwellian nightmare or something.

In America, the sky is the limit. You can do anything, be anything you want to if you are willing to work hard to achieve your goals.
Also, freedom--speech, religion, have children--these are things that ARE NOT common in other countries. Also, a democracy--where we, the citizens, have the say so in who is running our country. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! Land of the free, home of the brave, baby!!

Freedom of speech. Read the things that are said about GW Bush on here. In many countries peole would end up in jail or dead for criticizing their leaders like that.
Freedom of Religion - People can be whatever religion they want, the government does not interfere.
Oh, Thanks for daring to be different.

The easy answer would be to read the constitution...The difficult question for an American to comprehend is, why anyone would need "approval" from another to be "pro anything!" Regardless of their race, creed, color or religion. You don't need us to understand this...Friend!
