In 1997, Microsoft invested $150 million in Apple stock. For a company the size of Apple, that is not a huge amount.

They may or may not own any these days - I heard they no longer do, but can't confirm that. In any event, Microsoft is not a major holder of AAPL stock.

or, go to edgar online and look at apple's statment of beneficial ownership.
