The others know more than I about what you might do, but in case your children inherit ears that you find an embarrassment, I'll tell you what my mother did.

Both my brothers had very prominent ears when they were born. She did nothing with the first. The second boy, she actually taped his ears to his head for the first few months of his life, or covered them a bit with a hat that held them close.

It worked! One brother is still embarrassed by his ears (though I certainly don't see them as odd or funny) and the other's are close to his head. It may well be the only thing my mother ever did that helped any of us.

just get the surgery.

can you imagine the wax coming undone while you're giving a big presentation or speech and your ear's pop out like the doors of a delorean (sp?)??!!

There is--consult a plastic surgeon. However, it's probably not going to be covered by your insurance.
