they do not speak to me. though we have wireless connection between our hearts (trees do not have hearts, i know but they feel just as the earth, just as we all do. so you see). my best friend tala (she is plant) loves dancing and we enjoy music together. while his brother loves to watch the sky, and we all look at the wide world together. i have many frnds but if i start telling u all about them i will be sitting here and 2007 will arrive!

gran(oldest tree in our garden, around 100 years old) told me to tell you that u have her blessings :)

Sometimes, and only certain trees. They rustle and in a different way too! I feel more about them than they do for me. I have imagined how is it like to be a tree. I thought perhaps I have been a tree before!

They feel happy when I walk along them, as they feel how much I love to do that. They seems to say "pleasure" when you are finding shade under the hot sun, or seeking them for slight shelter during heavy rain. Somehow they seems to remind you not to if there are lightning. They seem to ask when will they get the turn to be part of our world. Trees, they always remind me that i have came from a long way back, and I should treasure the state of evolution of my soul I am in right now.

Yes, trees do speak to me, Linty. They speak a very subtle language, but one that speaks very strongly to my heart and soul. There is almost nothing as calming as watching a beautiful tree -- seeing it's branches sway with the wind -- it's leaves softly rustle together -- and really looking at all of the unique markings in it's bark. Have you ever wrapped your arms around a tree, and put your ear against the bark? I swear, it's almost as if you can feel, and hear the life inside of it!

When I see a really big tree, I assume it to be very old. I always get such a cool vibe from just sitting and studying it. :) It's as if it's trying to tell me of it's beginning, the things that have happened around it over the years, and the many difficulties it may have had getting to the size it is now.

A tree is a living thing, and although it's language may be very subtle, I find it more than worth the effort to 'listen' to what it has to say. Perhaps I only imagine them speaking to me, but the feelings of tranquility that they evoke in me when I'm near them, is simply priceless.

"Trees are the earth's endless effort to speak to the listening heaven." ~Rabindranath Tagore, Fireflies, 1928

They ask for more friends to be planted by every human, even just one tree would be better than none!

In New Orleans they said the local trees (I think oak) survived the best. Maybe we should think of re-foresting with the indigenous species of each area.

Yes they do, they tell you what they are feeling, if they feel neglected, or they are not nourished. When they are sad they turn dull colors and when happy they flourish and provide you with shade and excellent sitting grounds. Go forth and believe that trees are living and feeling beings!

Yes. They tell me when spring and fall have arrived. They can direct me north, They record the history of droughts. They tell me where the wind blows, and possibly much more.

actually, yes, if you have the ears to hear. they speak of many things including their concern for humans' lack of concern about our planet and its precarious state at this time.
