What do you think of arranged marriages?

I don't have an opinion on them, but statistics show divorce rates in arranged marriages are lower than in 'marriage for love'.

Remember that it was relatively recently - less than 200 years ago - when marriage in the west was arranged, just as it is now in the middle and far east. Married women in America had no property rights, and were essentially sold for a dowry and their inheritance rights.

The concept of a woman chosing who she wanted to marry and the idea that she could own property (and receive money after a divorce) only really came about in the last century.

I know many that have lasted longer than non-arranged ones, it depends on the two people & if they want to 'give it a go' or not once they are married. My 4 brother-in-laws had arranged marriages, one got divorced. I think if it's part of your culture & you have been brought up with the knowledge that it will happen then there will be no surprises. My husband's family (Turkish) still do it, but mainly for the males who can't seem to keep a steady girlfriend, but if he refuses or finds his own partner, no one will stop him. Same went for my sister-in- laws. All three of them chose their own husbands even though the family tried to arrange them. There was no opposition, but they are a very open minded family, I myself am British by birth.

According to my oppinion 90% marrages work but depends if both of the person are not in love with any one else forexample man is not in love with some one else and also the woman is not in love with some one else then they can come together and marrage can be good other wise forget it no marrage last no morew then 5 years now a days
