With all the styles of music that has come and gone, over the decades, before and after the rather short career of ABBA, what is it about their style that has made them so special? Also, other than A*Teen, why doesn't more people try to copy it?

Yes, I do like ABBA, which means father. In Israel it is the word they encourage a baby to say. I don't just have their audio music, but also music videos, which is a part of the 3000 videos I play in my taxi cab.

My opinion- ABBA's timing was perfect. The 1970s. Pop/rock music was at the peak of it's commercial popularity & making HUGE boatloads of $$.
Along comes ABBA. A foreign act w/ catchy melodies & attractive Scandinavian women. A combo of appeal that was bound to win. & it did..

what is it about the music of ABBA that makes it so hateful but makes you sing along with it no matter when or where you hear it and makes is seem not so bad (FERNANDO - UGH!!!!)?!? it's an alien mind-game!!!!!
