There isn't necessarily a new feeling associated with turning sixteen. The only thing that changed for me was getting my driver license, which was very significant to me because I couldn't wait to start driving on my own, but really that's the only thing that can really change at sixteen.
To be completely honest, I have it figured out that you have it best when you turn 25 because you are completely free to do whatever you want. At 18 you can vote, buy porn (if you're into that stuff), and smoke (which is VERY expensive and a habit that you should not get into), at 21 you can gamble and drink, and at 25 you're car insurance gets lowered (if you have a good record otherwise), you can rent a car when you go on vacation w/o paying extra insurance for liability, you can go on a cruise without someone over 25 (which would usually be your parents before you reach that age), along with a lot of other cool benefits that are associated with being 25.
A lot of that stuff you may not understand yet, but believe me, 25 is the age when you should really "feel" a change. Shoot, I have 5 more years to go. You would think that I would be really excited about turning 21 in 6 months, but it really doesn't seem like it is that big of a deal.

Just keep thinking the way you're thinking. 16 is a landmark birthday. You get more priviledges than you've had before, but you also have more responsibilities. You're heading toward adulthood, but you still have childhood left. It's an interesting age, but SO is 14. Try to appreciate the age you're at right now, because you will never be 14 again!

I grew to become 30 right this moment hahaha. as quickly as I grew to become sixteen it wasn't that massive of a deal. in comparison to 18 or 21. i don't understand why they make a huge deal out of turning sixteen while quite that is not that diverse than being 15 or 17. 18, 21 are the biggies.

It didn't do anything special for me. You should have a party though or do something you enjoy.
