so it may be back and forth later the APPLE portable had a screen and it was fast but to me it was the fastest computer in its time as a portable computer.
Later Atari, Acorn computers , Tandy, Toshiba, made the first to second generation laptops, however most were powered by a Motorola 68000 (8mhz processor low power comsumption) a Zilog Z80 which made the majority of the budget computer market and still exists today. Before, laptops were from 4mhz to 10mhz Zilogs Z80's. Later came the future and probably the most common family company of processors Intel it ranged from 8086 8mhz processors to today. Including the all Rare Intel 186 processor was included on some very old laptops around late 1984 to 1985.
So these where the first pieces that build our lifestyle of portable computers. And what paved the way to the future of today of mobile wireless computing. By the way Atari one time during 1986 experimented the first laptop with IR Blaster or IR transfer used rarely today by laptops to transfer data it was once used before as a wireless modem , however when something walked right infront or the Infrared Blaster it disconnected so i guess they gave up. And by the way the IR blaster has shown up on old Dell Inspiron Notebooks (Go Figure!)
