they're called kilts, and they're hot as balls - look into it (many resources online - do a search)!
a little friendly advice - don't call them skirts - that's totally gay, and really a turn-off, whether you're dealing with men or women!

depends on how your girlfriend is. if shes mellow, go with something long and flowing. if shes just the opposite, a black mini skirt
