False, boyfriends who care, respect and love their girlfriends trust them. Isolating a woman from her friends, and getting jealous when she talks with others is a sign of a problem. And its the beginning of the road to abuse. Boyfriends who care let their girlfriends live their lives.

It all depends, if you know what kind of character he is, then you should be able to decipher whether or not his possessiveness stems from his own insecurities; that he is not good enough for you or be able to tell whether he wants to control you and keep you at arms length for whenever he needs you. Jealously most definitely shows insecurity because if he isn't confident in what he's providing and what he's returning, then he's going to constantly worry about you figuring out that you deserve better than him and that's also when he can become possessive. Men are difficult to read and so you should try and get to know the person before dating him on a serious level. When guys get possessive, and you know you're not strong enough to defend yourself and your beliefs, then that relationship is no longer a partnership, but a one-sided deal.

Very false. They are showing that they are jealous and possessive which is a red flag to get the he** out of that relationship. People who are jealous and possessive are generally insecure or control freaks. Neither make for good relationships.

Two sides to this. If I trust my girlfriend, I do not care who she talks to or maybe even flirts with. I am confident she is just having a little fun and would still rather spend her time with me. On the other side, if Joe Bologna wants to hit on my girlfriend and think he's got a shot, I should make it clear what the situation is in case he doesn't know. There is a fine line between protecting your "turf" and just acting like a jerk.

Boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives.............jealousy and possessiveness is a true sign of insecurity and immaturity. If one has to be jealous of another person, then they are insecure in their relationship with that person. If you trust someone that you are with, then trust them fully and unconditionally. If someone else flirts with your significant other.....be proud that someone else finds what you have attractive. But, remember that after all the flirting and such....it is YOU that she is going home with at night. Make it to where that is where she WANTS to be...not because she has to be.
Possessiveness is the same thing....just like the old saying..."IF YOU LOVE SOMEETHING..LET IT GO..IF IT COMES BACK TO YOU, IT IS YOURS...IF IT DOESN'T, THEN IT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE."
Good luck!!!!!

Theres a thin line between caring and jealousy. It doesn't always follow that a jealous possesive person cares about you.... they simply care about themselves.

Sometimes. I guess if it gets to a certain point, it's not showing that they care. Actually, it may be the signs of the beginning of an abusive relationship, I think.

men that are jealous of their women are not showing they care. rather they are coming from the point of view that he owns her and that she can only do what he says or wants her to do. he has come to see her as an object and the danger in that is that objects are disposable. my dad was possessive over my mother. she wanted to devorce him becouse he was beating her and abusing me. but he told her that if he couldnt have her no one could. so he killed her and then killed himself. i was only 6 but i remember how sad she was all of the time. without him she was only allowed to go to work. if he went she would go see her mother.
