It usually comes without all the fancy packaging or manuals but you can save 30-40% on the retail price.
Don't take the advice of losers saying to get a pirate (back-up)copy. By doing this you make it more expensive for legitimate business owners to buy.
The only problem with Open Source is that others may not be able to read the doc's on their computers and vice versa unless they have the program.

An educational licence is fine if you are a student or a teacher.
It is not the least expensive to borrow someone else's software and you have a problem with the computer. Sooner or later they find find out.

The least expensive way to purchase and install MS Office is to buy a student edition from the bookstore of your local community college.
