Tylenol is not aspirin.

My girl's list of approved OTC drugs includes Tylenol, but excludes Aleve, aspirin, and Ibueprofin.

Tylenol and aspirin are two different things with different active ingredients. Tylenol is acetaminophen, and aspirin is salicylic acid. Tylenol is safe, but aspirin is not. Be sure you were only taking Tylenol. Aspirin is especially dangerous toward the end of pregnancy, and the first trimester. Read the label of all pain relievers you take, and know the difference. It is very important.

Aspirin and Tylenol are two TOTALLY different things. Aspirin can thin the blood and cause problems with the placenta. Tylenol is safe if taken in the proper dose...check the bottle for dosing.

Tylenol's ingredient is acetominophine. Aspirin is much different and can cause bleeding and thinning of the blood.
TYLENOL is preferred by doctors for many reasons. Please read the ingredients before you take any drugs and ask your doctor if anything you might take could injure you or your baby, k? Congrats on your upcoming...baby!
Have a healthy pregnancy.

It is my understanding that Tylenol is ok--but Aspirin is not.

However, when I was pregnant I thought it best to be overcautious. I did not take ANY kind of medications unless prescribed by the doctor. And I can not recall anything being prescribed other than prenatal vitamins.

Tylenol is OK as long as you let your doctor know about it. Taking Aspirin (or other medications containing Aspirin) can put your child at risk for Reye's Syndrome. Reye's Syndrome is a rare disease that effects the liver in children and teenagers and can cause death. Although it is still unknown how it is brought on, it is usually only seen during times when a child has ingested Aspirin. And yes, what you take your baby gets as well, especially drugs.

For one, aspirin and Tylenol are not the same. Aspirin (Bayer, Excedrin) is not suitable for children or pregnant moms. Tylenol is ok in moderation.

Aspirin (besides as ibuprofen and different anti inflammatory meds) block prostaglandins (hormones) which could, especially taken after the 32 week mark, block blood move to the uterus it really is doubtlessly deadly to the toddler. Tylenol works in yet otherwise and does no longer influence blood move, merely soreness theory.
