Any addicted person has to admit to the addiction.
When you're a friend, you can try to intervene but you might as well bounce your head off of the wall.
Learn to not be an enabler. If the problems interfere with your friendships, get advice from an older, mature, counselor. Good luck. My druggie friends from high school recovered!

It's like the old joke: How many psychaiatrists does it take to change a light bulb? Only one, but the bulb has to want to change.
An adict must first realise that they have a problem. Then it is only by their own will to change that they can solve that problem. If anyone tries to change them, they will resent it and the problem only becomes worse.
If they are truely your friends, then all you can do is pray for them, be supportive of them if and when they decide they have a problem and attempt to deal with it.
If you wish to help, and you are willing to realise you may lose your friends (from their resentment in your 'meddling') you might look up 'tough love' alternatives online via the link below.
Good luck. I know it's not easy.
