blue screen appears on laptop citing a device driver prob??

this blue screen appears,suddenly, and tells me that i have encountered a prob with a device driver and it has caused windows to shut down. It is called a "stop error" and I have to rebut the computer. What is this and what do I do to correct the problem?

It is really hard to troubleshoot stop errors, but there are complet instrctions in Microsoft's knowlege base.
