I'm looking at colleges and would love to play sports at college, but not at a really hard-core school. I want something more relaxed. Would club or intramural be better? I'm pretty clueless.

If there is the remote chance that you will be competing in intercollegiate sports, you need to register with the NCAA to begin with right now or before you start applying to various schools. It is a database of player stats and what the coaches are looking for in sports.

The differences between the different divisionDivision 1 athletics is the most competitive of the three divisions and offers athletic scholarships along with the greater chance of being noticed by the pro scouts at the games or meets. I am not sure about Division 3 details. Division 3 offers no scholarships for sports.

College sports is way more competitive than high school sports teams for sure. The distances to competitions can be pretty far depending on the individual conference. They do offer a lot of help to their athletes to succeed acadmically, too.

The colleges do offer various club or intramural sports throughout the school year.

Maybe an idea is to place your name into the NCAA database but also talk to division 2 and 3 coaches to get a feel if intercollegiate sports is for you.
