smoking while on bc pills makes your chances of having a stroke/heart attack/ or blood clot greater. However, if you are a young healthy woman under the age of 35 your risks are not that great but it could still happen. stopping smoking is hard, i know, i've relapsed a few times since quitting in Feb 04 but you can do it just takes a great support staff (family and friends) and alot of will. good luck to you on the quitting smoking thing and getting prego!!

smoking while taking estrogen increases your chances of blood clots and/or stroke. if you're under 35 and otherwise healthy, the risk doesn't increase that much but, there's still an increase. i smoked about a pack a day for awhile when i was on the pill but, i've since quit.

you have to stop. its not just about your health but that of your current child's as well... you smoking gets residues into your hair clothing and even comes out your pores. This is not good for your child. complications for him/her may not be apparent now but has a high chance of occurring later. Does your child get sick often now? ear aches? eye infections? throat problems? .. all these are linked to children whose parents smoke. and you don't even need to be near them when you do. Some parents even think that its OK if your around the child smoking as long as its outside.. its not. Bottom line quit smoking for your kid.. what is harder kicking a bad habit or explaining to your child that he/she has Asama because mommy smoked cigarettes?

It is bad to smoke on or off the pill. It is bad for your children to be around it. It is bad for you, your pets, your house, and the people that are around you when you smoke in public. When you are on the pill, it increases your chance of stroke or blood clots.
