The rash looks like wind burn or something similar. Has anyone ever seen a rash appear in correlation with teething? I don't think it's allergies - he hasn't had anything new lately.

if you not sure what the rash is on your 5 month old sons face please get him checked out by your family doctor, then knowing from the doctor will make you feel much better. Not knowing whats going on with your baby makes all moms worry. So make a appointment with family doctor and let him look at your babys rash and see whats goings on.

He could have dry skin or eczema. Put some A & D ointment or unscented lotion on it and see if it helps. If he has a fever, take him to the doctor and see if it is something like a strep rash. I've never heard of a rash because of teething.

I have had a little experience with something similar.
Have you changed the washing detergent recently or the fabric softener that you use in blankets and clothing? Try using unscented...and no softener of any kind.
Also make sure EVERYONE who picks up the baby has washed his/her hands first with soap and water. It sounds strange but sometimes people bring in all sorts of outside allergens with them.
Even if neither is the cause it wouldn't hurt to put a quick call into the pediatrician. Better safe than sorry with the little ones.

Yes, thats probably what it is but watch out for it and see if it develops anywhere else, but a red rash on cheeks is perfectly normal, he may get a sore bottom too which is also normal.

I think so, my daughter had that too.. But also it can be a diaper rash (I know, u'r thinking on the face but it's true). I had that problem with my daughter. If it doesn't go away take him to the CLSC.
Don't worry though.. I'm sure it will go away

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/cmLPF
