depends on what type of position you are refering to there which related to MIS. if you are willing to work hard with less pay i'm sure some smaller firms will take you in. as for the poster above, he/she may not get the job even with a MIS major can be due to other factors such as out-dated traditonal theory rather than practical hands-on MIS knowledge or even communication skills! my advice is not to listen to such negativity. go and flow with what you aspire to do and just do it with all your planned goals and well-defined vision.

Depends on how much experience you have and if you find the right job at the right time. Usually most companies look for the MIS degree or Computer Science degree when trying to get a job in the field. If you are still in school try some internships or if possible switch majors if you aren't out yet. Maybe you could get into Management or as a business analyst. Just a suggestion.

I can't get a job in the field and I HAVE a degree in
Management Information Systems. There just isn't
any demand for true MIS professionals anymore.

Oh, and I've been in the field in one capacity or another
since 1984, so I do have experience.
