War is a continuation of politics. When politicians fail to sort out issues diplomatically, they sometimes resort to war. If the rulers of a country believe that another country has encroached upon their territory, they may try peaceful channels to recover the same. They may engage in talks with that country or take up the matter with an international authority. Failing, they may choose to declare war.

mainly to gain land, terrorist attack, show ones stronger than another, because one has the "wrong beliefs", or for oil.
