its the general motors four cylinder engine that they use in the "classic" which is a malibu without the v6 its also supposed to mean something but i am at a loss for what it means but they put it in their cars to make them more economical

That is the name GM gave their 4 cylinder engine.

first came out it was named the quad 4, for four valves per cylinder
