They are two baby dwarf hamsters that are 5 weeks old. I didnt put them in water, there was still water in the bath like from when you have a shower or bath, it leaves lill puddles of water about!

hamsters do not get wettail from getting wet as suggested above. they should be fine but next time make sure u dry the tub with a towel first. never ever actually bathe them because they can die from that. they can easily catch cold. i realize u didnt mean to wet them. i wouldve toweled them off but im sure u already put them away now.

u did say u let two in the tub---r they dwarf or syrian? if they r syrian please keep them separate and make sure they have separate homes too because they r territorial loners and will fight often to death once they reach 3 mths.

First of all- how old where the babies??? I am guessing over 14 days right?

Hamsters ARE NOT SWIMMERS. THEY DO NOT SWIM. Hamsters have been known to drown in water bowls. Hamsters are never to be bathed or submerged in water. Longhaied hamsters are meant to be brushed with a baby toothbrush (clean and not wet)

It should be perfecly fine, just a bit of wetness will dry fine, but make sure next time you wipe the tub down. A bit of wet is like the hamster washing itself, tiny little drops. No harm unless it was poisin. :P LOL.

I find that it is easier to put a towl down incase there is shampoo at the bottom of the tub instead of washing it. ; )

Point- Don't worry, it's not bad.

I had a hamster get sick and die after he made his nest under the water bottle, which was apparently leaking. He got a condition called 'wet tail' and it looked like all the fur around his tail fell out. I got him on meds, but he died within a 2 week period. But if they got dry quickly, they'll probably be OK.

As long as you dry them off real good and don't let a draft blow on them you should be okay. I used to do this to my rats and they loved it :-) . If you want to make sure they dry fast, you can use a blow drier set on low and keep the drier 1 foot away from your little guys. Some rodents hate blow driers while others will do a dance to stay in the air of the drier. It's quite cute :-) .

I used to breed hamsters when I was younger and I used to give them a bath once a week, hamsters are very good swimmers and they swim a lot in the wild, as long as you towel dry them off so they dont get a cold they'll be fine! Hamsters get colds too, its not dangerous as long as you keep them warm, but no, they shouldnt get ill as long as you dried them off a bit!
