How would u teach word place value problems to kids
let's say nine hundred fifty thousand seventy nine.How would u explain to 1 kid so that he/she understand in one go.

Well this is how I was learned it draw a line put the place values in order under it put the numbers in the correct place on the line and then see if he/she can understand that way.sorry that's all I have.

I guess have blanks like, __hundred-thousands __ten-thousands __ thousand __hundred __tens __ones. Then go backwards from the end and say, there are nine ones, seven tens (or one seventy) no hundreds, fifty ten-thousands, and nine hundred-thousands.
I guess that's why you see numbers written like, "nine (9)". Maybe a lot of people have trouble reading word versions of numbers.
