First of all Canada is not known for soccer, their major sports are hockey and baseball ...As for their National Anthem there's nothing wrong with it..actually it's pretty cool!!
Hey is used everywhere not only in Canada...LOL
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons* command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land** glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
Extra verse (not part of the anthem)
O Canada! Where pines and maples grow,
Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow,
How dear to us thy broad domain,
From East to Western sea!
Thou land of hope for all who toil!
Thou True North strong and free!
WaterfallOfDestiny,,Thank you@LOL

Go Juventina! =D I'll even add the French lyrics, which were, in fact, the original ones to our national anthem (the English lyrics were taken from a poem by The Honourable Robert Stanley Weir):
O Canada! Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix!
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
Probably the only reason why some Americans like to make fun of Canadians is because we are just too friendly and can accept humour (so long as it isn't totally offending). I've also seen some Americans mention that we should all bow down to the world's superpower (which makes me think about all of the reports that China will be the world's next superpower in the near future).
Obviously, not "everyone" makes fun of us, but some just can't accept the fact that we have such a reputation for peacekeeping, and taking such an active role in liberating countries such as the Netherlands in World War II. Then there's the fact that many of us oppose the idea of the war on Iraq, etc., while it seems that Americans support, or at least supported the idea of the war.
Besides, people make fun of American soccer all the same. I've noticed that some Americans support their own team, while I haven't seen anyone support the Canadian team lately. =) Still, whenever there's a question about the American team here, you always see something like, "American team sucks". Note that I was quoting that statement.

uh I live in Canada, and I really don't like the anthem. As for our soccer teams Canada is not known for soccer, they are know for hockey and baseball. What the heck is the -hey thing, never heard of that, practically everyone uses hey. The style and attitude hear are not any different then in America.

You can start with South Park and the "Blame Canada" thing. I hear that when something goes awry with the USA and Bush, the creepiest of the creepy, the Canadians casually say "Yeah, Blame Canada".
Bushism #1 "We're concerned about AIDS inside our White House- make no mistake about it". Feb 7, 2001.
#2 "It would be a mistake for the US senate to allow any kind of human cloning to come out of that chamber" Apr 10, 2002.
#3 "Let me put it to you this way, I am not a revengeful person". Dec 25, 2000.
#4 "It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it".
#5 I am mindful not only of preserving executive powers for myself, but for my predecessors as well." Jan 29, 2001
#6 "Do you have Blacks, too?" to Brazilian President Cardoso, May 19 ,2002.
I'm sorry but I don't call him my president, two more years to go and we rid of him as he is the laughingstock of the whole world.

Who makes fun of Canadians? Why is it when Canadians go to Europe they are loved by everyone? Americans have to pretend to be Canadian in order to get the respect that Canadians do when they go to Europe. Soccer isn't Canada's sport. HOCKEY is and after soccer it is the best sport in the world.
Have you ever been to Canada? And for the record it's not "hey"
it's "eh" and Candians ROCK -do you hear?

I wasn't aware that we made fun of Canadians. I have a Canadian friend and I pick on her and call her maple leaf but she picks on us whenever the US loses to Canada in some sporting event. It's not that big of a deal.

'cos we Canadians don't really care, lol. I like hearing Canadian jokes even if they might be true or not 'cos they're funny as hell. And it's 'eh not hey. (Which I do say by the way!)
My favourite joke is where that one comedian was saying how we protect our borders with plastic KFC forks, LMFAO.
=) have a good day!

Tourzous, where did you hear that everyone makes fun of them? If anyone does its probably just because they dont have a clue about some different country. If someone doesn't have a general idea about another country, and feels it gives them the right to pass judgment on Canada then their idiots. Not much else to say to that.

People always pick on the weak. Canada poses no threat to anyone, so everyone feels free to hop on. It doesn't help that they are comprized of a bunch of french and Norweegian explorers who couldn't find their way back home. Frogs and Codchokers lost on a frozen moose refuge, good grief who WOULDN'T pick on 'em?
