You may have an adult version of ADD. You need to slow down, make lists, and organize your life. Look at your living and work spaces...if disorganized, clean them up...just little things like that help you to be more in control. At least give the appear of control.

The scatterbrainedness( is that a word!) you are feeling might be coming from the stress of being overloaded at school. I understatnd that you cannot drop your classes, but you can do things that can help you reduce stress.
Make time in your schedule to do fun things with friends, relaxing things like taking a hot bath or getting a massage. Do things that will keep you thinking but not about school which sounds like is stressing you out a little. Try and slow yourself down too. The more organized you are the easier it will be. I am not talking about micromanaging every bit of your day, but if you schedule the important things you need to get done. If these things don't work, you might make an appointment with your school counselor. Talking out your stress helps too!

It seems to me, you have just got a lot on your mind all at once, and that causes you to lose focus on the task at hand. What I do is try my best to keep my thoughts on just one thing at that moment, and that is the task I am doing at the moment, and don't get concerned with others until that task is finished, if that doesn't work, you could be having panic/ anxiety attacks, which there are a lot of good mild medicines for, see a doctor tell him everything you can about what is going on and use common sense when trying to achieve someting, you are one person, and can only do one thing at a time, perhaps you are being a bit too hard on yourself also. I wish you the best of luck on this, as I too use to feel that I was a "scattered brain." and did end up diagnosed with a mild case of anxiety and stress. God bless you..

I work full time and go to school full time, so I know where you are. It just means that your mind is over stimulated. Try getting in the shower and playing music loudly while in there. It works for me. Also, certain scents, like lilac, are very calming.
I make lists of what I need to do for the week, and set time aside for each one. That way, I don't have to worry about when things are going to get done. Good luck!

I started writing everything down so I didn't have to try to remember everything....it kind of gives you a sense of security that you're not going to forget something so your brain isn't working so hard to remember it. Oh, and write daily "to do" lists, this helps also if you cross them off as you go, then it lets your brain let go of it. Try it.

Making lists works for me. Write stuff down, so you don't lie awake at night and think about it.
