YES, YES, YES! You will grow and change so much over your lifetime that if you keep a diary, you can look back and smile. I have kept a diary since the 5th grade (I'm in my 30s now) and my diaries are my most prized possessions. As an adult with not much time to write, I now keep a diary in a book I bought called the "Journal 10+" because there are 4 lines for each day every day for 10 years. If I need to write more there are bonus pages. I can look back and see what I did every day for 10 years. Very cool!

Keeping a diary is great for two reasons: 1) It's historic, you eventually will read it several years from now and reminisce about "way back when" and, 2) It's therapeutic, you can sort things out better when they're in front of you - it's a form of self-admittance, a way of being open and understanding; it's self-enlightenment. Anything basic would be helpful - an online diary, something on a word process, a basic written on in a notebook, etc. Keep in mind you're getting this advice from someone who writes for fun and for a living.

Of course, just keep it private. Write a diary of all the food you eat.

Yes absolutely. Keeping a journal is a great idea and a wonderful place to write down thoughts, feelings, and things that happen in your life. Its fun to go back and look over it later. One word of warning. Keep it locked up somewhere!

of course. we don't know how the earth came to be because nobody wrote about it. now we can. let the future know what life is like now so they know how lucky they are in their rocket boots complaining that they have to think up an answer for their automatic pencil to write down

i think its a good thing, when i was younger me and my friend kept a journal between each other, sending across the country.. but i found that you tend to whinge bout all th bad stuff and don't talk bout any good stuff.. so keep it even. that is just my opinion :)

I have kept a two-part diary.

the first is my dream of that night and the second is my actions and activities of the day
