1. (5) The odd vegetable out are Peas and the odd person out is Virginia; therefore, Virginia had Peas.

2. (2)Barbara, (2)Gwen, and (4)Elizabeth did not have Squash; therefore Gladys had Squash.

3. Gladys had [2]Squash therefore Gwen had (5)Spinach.

4. Elizabeth did not have (1)Corn so she had Carrots which means Barbara had (5)Corn and (1)Steak.

5. (2)Gwen, (4)Elizabeth, and (4)Gladys did not have ham; therefore, Virginia had Ham.

6. (2)Gladys and (2)Gwen did not have Chicken; therefore, Elizabeth had Chicken.

7. Either Gladys or Gwen had the Pork but (3) so Gwen had the Pork and Gladys had the Lamb.

Have you ever done a logic problem like this before? The easiest way to do it is to make yourself a graphical representation. Draw a grid with three boxes across the top and three boxes down the left-hand side. Divide each box into five columns/rows, and write in the information you were given. Then you can put an X in any square you can rule out and fill in any square that you know to be true.

If you've never done it before, maybe it's hard to envision. Go to your nearest corner or book store and pick up a book of logic puzzles. They're about $1.99.
