I need someone to double check this, just to see if I have the process down correctly.

It's a chemical equation that I have to finish when it gives me two elements.

Germanium+Sulfur= GeS

I'm not sure about charges and all that. Any ideas?

Normally
Germanium +4 charge
Sulfur -2 charge

Compound Germanium diSulfide GeS2

with the 2 as a subscript

but germanium can also have a +2 charge
making the compound
Germanium Sulfide GeS

I believe it could either be GeS or GeS2. Sulfur prefers a 2- charge. And I think Ge could be 2 or 4. Wish I had a periodic table in front of me.

Please check the valancy of Germanium while the valancy of sulphur is -4. If it is +4 then GeS is O.K.
