I am thinking of switching from TXU to Reliant due to outrageous bills. Wondering if it is worth it.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER. GO TO THE SITE BELOW AND USING YOUR ZIP CODE IT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPARISONS OF ALL OF THE AUTHORIZED SUPPLIERS OF ELECTRICITY TO YOUR AREA. CHOOSE THE DEAL YOU WANT TO GET AND SWITCH TO IT. YOU CAN SIMPLY CHOOSE THE CHEAPEST OF THEM OR ONE MORE EXPENSIVE THAT USES WIND POWER, ECT.

We lived in northwest Houston for about a year and a half and had Reliant Energy the entire time. Obviously the AC bill is a much bigger concern there than the heating bill so I'll only comment on that. We generally kept our house on 78 degrees during the work day and 76 in the evenings and on weekends. Our house was around 2800 square feet on one level with zoned heating and cooling. The highest bill we had from Reliant in that time was $350.00. We had no tall trees to help shade the house and the windows were single pain, although we did have ceiling fans in every room other than the dining and bathrooms.

Wow...just in comparision to the last response-we have just regular service through the city, out house is 3000 sq ft in south tx, where it is usually much hotter than Houston, no fancy windows or tree cover to speak of, we run our a/c 75-77 during the day and 73-75 at night and our bill is usually between $250-$300 almost never 300. I don't know anything about Reliant Energy, but I don't see that that is more efficient or cost effective?
