Yes global warming MAY be occuring, but it's effects are so miniscule that even in 1000 years it will NEVER have any impact on life on this planet. Trust me...I've researched this for a masters thesis. It's all bunk!

Why do the liberals try so hard to get us to believe we're all going to fry our planet by using hairspray? Why are they so hell bent on blaming George Bush for this phony, make-believe scam?

God! Liberals are so evil!

And Al Gore is a liberal, facist, lying pig!

To the retired liberal teacher...I was born the day before yesterday actually. I never said global warming didn't exist, just that it's true effect is so insignificant that it has almost no impact on everyday existence.

To the minister...thanks for your sound advice. I HAVE done some homework on this and most of what you said is true....However, there are just as many "cooling off" spots on the surface of the earth as there are "warming up" spots.

This, of course, you'll never hear from our liberal institutions and universities, but it's true, so YOU should do some homework instead of blindly accepting what the politial left has stated as "fact" on this issue.

To dumrobin...The earth's temp has only rasied 1 degree over the last 500 years. That's not enough to substantiate global warming, however the ice caps ARE melting due to a cyclical (and predictable)shift in radiologic and atmospheric pressure. This ocurs NATURALLY every few thousand years WITHOUT man's intervention.

STOP BELIEVING THE LIES!!!

It is scientific fact that we are doing something to the planted with the emissions (CO2 and CH4) we release. See my other answers on the subject for some scientific background.

I agree that it's impact is debatable. If we follow all the "liberals" (I hate labels), and reduce our emissions and impact, then the worst thing that would happen to the earth is nothing. But if we decide that our impact is negligible, and it turns out to have drastic consequences, then that would be bad. Bottom line, it's better to be safe then sorry. I think that is what most scientists are warning us about.

I don't really understand your use of the word scam. The earth is getting warmer. Humans do release CO2 and CH4 into the atmosphere. CO2 and CH4 trap heat in our atmosphere. None of these sentences are "scams", yet they are the basis to the global warming debate.

Why are you so intent on denying the truth that global warming is a fact? Your question shows me that you need to do more research to get your facts straight. YES! Global warming is already affecting life on this planet! PBS airs specials on this topic, the movie, "An Inconvenient Truth" addresses relevant facts, etc. Your point of view is biased. Hit the books, and get the facts.

Liberals are not evil, either. Were you born yesterday?

Actually, the effects of global warming ARE ALREADY BEING FELT.

The polar caps are melting.

Now, dark absorbs heat, light reflects heat.

when even a very small part of the polar caps melts, the white ice turns into dark sea, thus for every mm of ice that melts, there is less light ice and more dark sea.

this causes the speed at which the polar caps melts to snowball, because the dark sea absorbs more heat because there is now less ice to reflect it, hence the sea gets warmer, hence more ice melts.

This causes the ice caps to melt exponentially faster and it will eventually become irreversibly fast.

Now then - snow does not contain salt, so when it melts it becomes freshwater, not salt water. as this fresh water clashes with salt water, it causes the sea and the air around it to do very strange things, and it will cause the Gulf Stream (a stream of warm air that travels around the earth and warms it up) to move and this will have a quick and shocking effect to countries that rely on the gulf stream for their weather, which is in fact, the entire northern hemisphere. This change in weather up north causes the earth’s entire weather system to change and before you know it, we'll have another ice age.

The increasingly worsening hurricane seasons that are hitting America are being caused by the change in the gulf steam and salination of the sea - another example of climate change affecting us NOW.

I suggest going doing some learning instead of just accepting everything you are told at face value - global warming is affecting us now and in 1000 years the world will be a very different place if we continue to pollute it the way we do now.

ADD: my user name is not minister - read it twice, dumbass.
so what you're basically saying is that everyone is basically wrong and you are right? Time to stop kidding yourself, its people like you that are going to cause this planet to meltdown.
the one degree change in our climate IS very much effecting our planet, it only takes a change of about 3 degrees to put us on the brink of another ice age - it is basic science that even your so called liars couldn't cover over.
if you had a brain cell you'd be dangerous, and i find your insults in 'additional details' that you have said to others, offencive. consider yourself reported - GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND

you are the epitome of the so called "Ugly American" that gives your nation its bad name. your country has only 5% of the planets population yet uses 26% of its resources.
U.S. residents consume an average of 12,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity each, almost nine times greater than the average for the rest of the world.

it is largely the US that causes global warming, increasingly since you have not signed the Kyoto agreement, that is why you are told it is not an issue - because it is too much of an issue for the US to do something about it - it would massively cost your economy if you were to place emission restrictions etc. I just didn't know there were people around that are stupid enough to fall for the cover ups!

PS there AREN'T as many cooling off spots on the earth as there are warming up spots, because 70% of the earth is water, and since (as i explained above) water absorbs heat, that means that 70% of the earth is a warming up spot - as is most of the land thanks to human emissions

Why on earth are they finding water at the north pole for the first time in recorded history if our climate isn't changing dramatically?

By the way, what kind of Mickey Mouse university did you attend to get a degree for peddling this nonsense?

confusing center democrats are sticking to the social gathering line as though the play Al Gore stated as ought to have been a landing rather of a fumble. I unquestionably have time-honored from the outset that international warming became not something greater advantageous than a political ploy to boost taxes and alter the international. i'm not one to declare I informed you so, yet I informed YOU SO!! (not you in my view considering which you already knew, yet for particular of your readers.)

They blamed George Bush for Katrina. They hate the guy. No matter what he does, good or bad, they will always look for the negative in it. I mean they even tried to get John Kerry to the white house simply because they hated him.
