The kind that can catch mice and rats. That run off vermin from my house. I have lived in some areas with lots of these such that having a cat around besides as a pet has been an added blessing. The fruit rats down south will leave any place if they even smell a cat in the house or apartment so they are more than just companions they rid places of vermin who destroy things and carry disease.

Among domesticated house cats my favorite is the Scottish Fold. They are cuddly and travel well. (I live in a motorhome).
Among the big cats, my favorite is the Canadian Lynx.

I like them all, but if I have to pick one....blue-point Siamese. They're very intelligent, and sort of dog-like, in that they come when called, and let you rub their bellies.
Tuxedo cats are also nice.
