Did unicorns ever exsist? I have heard they were made up............if they never existed..did someone just make it up for like a fairy tale and thats how it started?

i don't think that unicorns ever existed. I think that way back when someone took the whole horse idea and turned it into something more catchy and it really worked in with the whole fairy tale scene.

No, my Dear. Unicorns are indeed real. They're just rather shy (and in today's world can you really blame them??) around people, especially since Man has decided that unicorn horn is a sovereign remedy against a lot of things (check the medieval herbals and any Chinese apothecary). One doesn't always see them but just believing they are really there does help. You'll see one. I haven't yet but I'm still looking

I saw above that someone said it came from the rhinoceros. That's partly true, the rhino helped inspire it. But another major influence o, at least, the European versions had to do with Narwhales. Narwhale horns were imported to Europe from other countries, but most Europeans couldn't imagine what kind of animal they came from - the unicorn was one of their explanations.

I saw a unicorn at a sideshow once. It was a goat with one horn growing from the middle of its head. lol
But the horned horse , as far as I know never actually existed.

The unicorn myth is said to come from a rare one horned goat..........no horned horses were ever found,so at least they proved where the legend came from.

Maybe not physically but in the astral. All things are possible there and if dragons exist spiritually then I guess unicorns do too.

There have been several goats born with one horn in the middle but they did not have magical abilities of course.

I have never seen on myself, but I do believe they are real. I also believe in fairies, but have never seen them either.
