I am totally terrified of snakes and I live in the country- believe me I have searched for ANYTHING that will keep them away and honestly don't waste your money. There is no real snake repellent. Keep your grass mowed very short. No bushes or ground cover near the house. No debris or trash. Basically leave them no where to hide and you will have a lot less. Plus they come looking for food so by doing these things you are also deterring mice and bugs which also want a place to hide. Get some cats- I have 4 and I have yet to see a snake around the house. The only other thing I have ever heard is building a 3 foot wall all the way around your property that is at about a 30 degree angle outwards so they can't climb it. Sorry I wish there was more. Good luck

Moth balls are a good snake repellent but you don't want to put them where a small child or pet can get to them. They are also very hard on respiratory systems so anyone with breathing challenges should not use them.

We have the same problem in our yard. We have called all kinds of people and not had any luck. I don't like them and don't want them in my yard. There is a product called Snake Away. We bought it at Farm & Fleet. Looks like cat litter and smells like moth balls. You sprinkle it around the outside of your house and supposedly the snakes won't go over it. But you have to reapply after a rain. It doesn't work like they say. We had just as much luck with moth balls, and they are less expensive. Good Luck!

Walk firmly - if you are in grass use a limber long stick to brush back and forth ahead of you. All snakes will move out of you path if you give them half a chance. You are way to big to eat and as long as they don't feel cornered they will leave you alone.

Why would you want to repel them? They're cute and harmless.
