That is when the Mayan calender ends. It is theorized by some to be the end of the world. However I wouldn't hold your breath.

According to rumor, an asteroid in supposed to come close to or strike earth on that day and it will destroy the planet.
i think if thus was true our government would be attempting to stop this event.
