LOL... when I'm putting mascara on, I'm usually concentrating on not poking my eye out, so I forget about my mouth. Also... I usually stick my tongue out, which is something I also do when I'm concentrating on something that requires hand-eye coordination.

That`s a total myth, and an untrue one at that. Of coarse women can put on mascara with their mouths closed. Some women who put on mascara with thier mouth open are just deeply concintrating. Think of this: why do guys watch TV with their mouth open?

Silly of course they can put it on with their mouths closed but it helps to keep the bottom lashes and top lashes off the skin when open--just try it-don't put on the mascara though-open your mouth and you will see-if you open too far though it will not help

*lol* funny you ask that I do it too I have no idea but I can't ever keep my mouth closed when putting on my mascara my husband always makes fun of me

WEll they can but that "mascara-face" just comes naturally without thinking but if they realize it they can close their mouths and do it just fine.

Not sure. some people can do it with their mouths closed but i rarely see it. I know that I am one of the loserly women who open my mouth! I do that for eyeliner too! it just kind of pops open.. hah

My top I do it with my mouth closed the bottom I open it because it stretches the face longer I guess and it keeps the masscara from hitting my cheekbone.

It just and unconscious thing that some women do...kinda like when you feed a baby you open your mouth for them

Don't you ask this question alot?
I think its because "some" woman can't chew bubble gum and walk at the same time.
Just my opinion
I personally can Chew Bubble Gum, Walk, Talk, Whistle, Juggle, and Wrestle a Tigger all at once!
Mascara.... Please!

i never thought about that before.
i mean i can close my mouth if i thought about it.
but naturally i open it.
i guess because we lean over the counter to look up close in the mirror when we do it and we're breathing heavier. that's just me personally.
