She is trying to make herself feel better. she thinks that only a 'special kind' of woman could have taken her guy away. Along the lines that he was 'bewitched' but her 'specialness' and was helpless. She does not want the other woman to be a normal woman, it hurts too much to be left for Jane doe.
Of course, she could just be kidding too...

Obviously she doesn't want to think that the 'other' woman is some retarded-bimbo-low-life. And, I'm pretty sure she's not meaning to compliment her and doesn't really think she's "special", she probably just asumes that the 'other' woman has more to offer than she does/did (which is probably NOT true). Look, bottom line is, all people deal with difficult situations differently.

Because she can only believe that her husband would leave her for another woman if she believes the other women is 'perfect'. The sad thing is that most of the time the other women is trampy, sloppy, uneducated, etc. Now THAT will really make a wife's self esteem plummet.

She is trying to take the focus off of herself during this hard time. She must feel awful and humiliated, she does not want that to show to the rest of the world.
When my dad cheated on my mom, she did the same thing. I asked what the deal was and she said
"It okay to act weak, but I don't want sympathy"
So she is acting this way so her friends won't show her sympathy, or more than she hes already been through.

She's making excuses for him. She has poor self-esteem and she's blaming herself for not being able to satisfy him. The sad thing is that even though we call men who cheat two-timers and dead beats, our society actually winds up putting the blame on the woman. Either we blame the girlfriend for being an evil tramp who tempted and then lured him away, or we blame the wife for being a nag or being inferior that she was a failure for not being able to keep his attention. We say the man is bad, but in truth, we generally let him off easy by saying that guys are weak and that it's not in their nature, and by extention not their fault, to control themselves. It's an ugly double standard that this friend of yours has obviously bought into. She's probably also hoping for some sympathy.

Well if she is soo special then it explains why he left her. You wouldn't want to admit your husband thought a stupid, ugly B***H was better than being married to you now would ya? Besides that she may feel this makes her the better person. Who wants to be the typical bitter ex-wife who then acts as immoral and immature as the homewrecker and cheater do.

Is he a abdomen dancer? feels like a stupid macho fool, yet grounds for divorce? not so positive, yet then, divorces so infrequently look in accordance to grounds lately. would not it make extra experience to handle the priority by employing discussing it openly, likely in spite of a wedding ceremony counselor. a third party might want to help the following as husband would not look to "get It".

It is simply a cover story..
She doesn't want to feel hurt, she doesn't want others to know how hurt she is and that is one way to cover all her hurt feelings and maybe also the reasons why he left her for the new girl friend.
She just accepted it as a fact and did not fight for her right.

She wants someone to tell her the exact opposite to make her feel better about the situation. She wants praise and compliments herself.

Turn it 180 degrees around. She's saying this to "appear" as though she's not threatened by her. It's her attempt to hide her real feelings.
