Does anyone know how much money Frederick Douglass paid to buy his freedom? I cannot find this information anywhere.thank you

One hundred dollars. (it was raised by friends from donors.)

Note to below: yes, he escaped. But he was still subject to being seized and returned to slavery, even in the North, undre the Fugitive Slave laws. That is why he purchased his legal freedom, for $100.00, with monet raised by friends for that purpose. When he did so, he was not in captivity, and was a notable writer, but was still technically owned by another.
