Consider if you had a cube that is 80 X 80 feet on each side, of an element that has 82 protons, and were able to remove 3 protons from each atom. You would send the world in financial chaos and ruin. Nations would fall and financiers would drown in their own saliva.

If instead you were to add 12 protons, you would die slowly and horribly, along with everyone else.

If you collected all of the world's samples of the element with 79 protons, melted them down into a cube, it would be 80 X 80 feet on each side.

I think Papa Bear is talking about Gold.

All the elements differ in the number of protons they have in the nucleus of their atoms. Add protons or take them away, and you completely change the element - thus Gold could become Lead.

For centuries, alchemists tried in vain to work out how to turn Lead into Gold. Of course they failed because it can only be done with nuclear processes, and we have only acquired nuclear technology since 1940s. Even now it is in its infancy, and turning lead into gold would be much more expensive than the value of the gold you would produce.

I hate to be a worrier, but if you follow Papa Bear's lead and take protons away, don't forget to put them back somewhere else and equalize the charge!

I think it might have something to do with what life may be like if we were ableto change one element to another element by removing protrons. It sounds like something to do with Chemistry and the Periodic table of Elements.
