my fiance' and i want to start a cleaning bussiness?

Question

what are some ways we can get started?we dont have alot of money about 6 hundred give or take .how can we get our name out there? i live in nj if it makes a diff.we were planning on putting ads in the paper and putting up fliers at the grocery store and laudery mat.any suggestions will be Very helpful.best answer ten points.

we have vacuums, cleaning supplies etc...

See if you can download a business plan and modify it to meet your needs; don't start without a plan.

Find out how the competition works: call a few services and ask them to come over to give you estimates...ask them lots of questions, and this will help YOU.

Get yourself licensed, bonded, and insured--this is important for people to feel secure if you're going to be coming into their homes.

Offer to do a couple of homes for free if they'll act as references.

ALWAYS use the homeowners' supplies; that way if something ruins their floors, for example, it will be what they selected/purchased.

I did this when I lived in Florida. One word of SERIOUS warning. Make sure you have rock-solid insurance. You will be in someones home, while they are not there. If something in the house comes missing, YOU will get the blame. This didn't happen to me, but it happened to a friend, and she didn't have insurance. She lost her business and her life savings.

This also goes if your break something. Just be sure you talk to your insurance agent AT LENGTH to make sure you are covered.

I DID IT FOR 13 YEARS IT IS A VERY HARD THING TO GET INTO FIRST YOU HAVE TO FIND PEOPLE THEN GET THEM TO TRUET YOU AND THAT REALLY NEVER DO.. AND THEN THERE IS ALWAYS MONEY TROUBLES YOUR THERES. AND GOD HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE A BAD DAY AND MISS SOMTHING YOU WILL NOT HERE THE END.. BE VERY CAREFUL OR IT WILL BE OVER BEFORE IT STARTS..GET LOTS OF INC!!!!CUZ THAY WILL TAKE YOU TO THE CLEANERS IF YOUR NOT CAREFUL!!GOOOD LUCK
