1. Cross Multiply: 12 * (3x + 3) = 24 (x - 2)
(Multiply the left numerator by the right denomenator and vis versa, you want to eliminate the fractions as soon as possible here)
2. Multiply out the brackets: 36x + 36 = 24x - 48
(ie. LHS : (12 * (3x)) + (12 * (3)) ---> 36x + 36)
3. Collect like terms: 12x = -84
4. Divide: x = -7

12/x - 2 = 24/3x + 3
So 12/x = 24/3x +3 +2
12/x = 24/3x + 5
12/x - 24/3x = 5
Using factors of 3
12/x is equivalent to 36/3x
So 36/3x - 24/3x = 12/3x
12/3x = 5
3x = 5/12
x = 5/12 x 3
x = 5/36
