In 2003 Townshend received a police caution after acknowledging a solitary paid access of a child pornography website in 1999. He claimed in the press and on his website to have been engaged in research for "A Different Bomb" (a now abandoned book based on an anti-child pornography essay published on his website)and his auto-biography. He was added to the British list of registered sex offenders for five years after police confiscated 14 of his computers and found no child pornography. He claims his auto-biography will include his own recollections of being sexually abused as a child, a theme that cropped up in "Tommy"

I would be very careful If I was you unless you wish to end up in court. Pete Townsend was cleared of being a paedophile. Deformation of character is still a crime in this country.

And how exactly would you define 'eye for an eye' in terms of child abuse? Strap the offender down and allow them to be molested by children? Also, learning to spell 'paedophile' would strengthen your case (an extremely shaky one, it must be said) to have your opinion taken seriously.....

I think he got off with it.
But you've got to question his reasons for having that stuff on his computer in the first place.
His excuse didn't sound entirely convincing to me.
