Bush? HA!

President Clinton urged Congress Tuesday to act swiftly in developing anti-terrorism legislation before its August recess

One key GOP senator was more critical, calling a proposed study of chemical markers in explosives "a phony issue."

The president stressed it's important to get the legislation out before the weekend's recess, especially following the bombing of Centennial Olympic Park and the crash of TWA Flight 800.

Hatch called Clinton's proposed study of taggants -- chemical markers in explosives that could help track terrorists -- "a phony issue."

"If they want to, they can study the thing" already, Hatch asserted. He also said he had some problems with the president's proposals to expand wiretapping.

Why were the Republicans so against the terrorism laws
when Clinton was President???

So, let me get this straight. Clinton want to enact laws, and Bush wanted to break the laws? And the Republicans opposed Clinton, but support Bush....... interesting.

All the measures were already on the table before Clinton's remarks! He just made matters worse!

I don't agree with Clinton, Bush or the Senate that we need to be taking away US citizens rights under any circumstance! That is how Americans who were of Japanese ancestry wound up in prison camps in the US! Plus all their orchards, land and homes were confiscated and never given back! These were not Japanese citizens! We didn't do it to the Americans of German ancestry, which would have been a big chunk of America! Why were the Americans that were of Japanese Ancestry singled out? Well take a guess! I think even Republicans can figure that out as racist as they are!

Leave my freedoms alone! There is no such thing as a war on terrorism! Its total BS!

If I die, so be it, but I want to die free, not with the government taking away my rights as they go around the world proclaiming everyone should be a Democracy, which we aren't!!

Duh!!

Give up your freedoms and hide! The only problem is you do not know whom or what you are hiding from! And you would not recognize them if you saw them! It sure isn't a country! It is people who are pissed at us and are tired of us going over and killing them, raping their women! Stealing their resources and taking their drug money, laundering it! Personally I think they have some legitimate gripes!

Watch debate on C-span, and agree thousand percent with what your saying except for one small exception. Believe Clinton focused on cells of bad guys. Didn't remember term terrorist being used Believe it's Bush's Bunch that's making hay out of term terrorist. Our friends in Senate may have been protecting plot that Clinton turned down.
While watching debate this either did not happen or I was not informed on issue to realize it. At this time did Clinton also try to get changed law that prevented FBI and CIA from talking to each other? Half brain on radio had field day mocking how surveillance truck would listen to very personal conversation you might have with your wife on the phone.

Yeah, sure. And Clinton had how many opportunities to get Bin Laden and either he or his people stopped it every time. But, you're absolutely right! Clinton--good; Bush--bad. We've got that already.

isn't that a common liberal ideas-set? turn your back on something long sufficient, human beings will ignore. i assume Nov. 2d proved that misguided. In 24 months from now, he gets yet another dose how plenty reminiscence the rustic has. This time his call is on the Benkins truck.
